Meet Our Team.

Pastor Gerrod Lucas currently serves as the Youth Pastor at Word of Grace Worship Center. Pastor Lucas became licensed to minister in 2008 and has served in various capacities of ministry since. He also provides oversight to the Audio Visual auxiliary, while simultaneously cultivating  the skills of the young people in that auxiliary.

He is happily married to Denise Lucas. Pastor Lucas' favorite Bible verse is John 3:30 "He must increase, but I must decrease." He believes that in all we do, we must virtually become invisible and Christ must be seen primarily.

Sister Melissa Mathis is the President of the Youth ministry at Word Of Grace Worship Center. When she is not busy in ministry duties she is being a loving wife to her husband, Alonzo Mathis and mother to two boys, Corey and Melan and two bonus children, Zoey and Kyran.

Outside of her family and church, she is a Family and Consumer Science high school teacher in Prince George’s County. She teaches International Culture and Cuisine and Interior Design to 10th, 11th, and 12th graders. Melissa has been teaching for close to 16 years and loves working with young people.

Radon Johnson Wilkerson currently serves as the Youth Vice President of the Word of Grace THRYVE youth ministry. Mrs. Wilkerson is a minister in training at Word of Grace Worship Center. Mrs. Wilkerson has performed in ministry for many years while dancing on the liturgical dance ministry ( Anointed Hearts dance Ministry) and is a faithful member of the usher ministry at Word of Grace Worship Center. Mrs. Wilkerson has a strong and dedicated spirit when it comes to ministering.

Mrs. Wilkerson is also the President of The University of The District of Columbia Prayer Works Club where she performs outreach ministry to students and staff at the University while practicing criminal justice. Mrs. Wilkerson’s favorite Bible verse is Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.” The verse helps guide Mrs.Wilkerson each step she takes and does.

Dr. Tami Frazier serves as the operations director at Word of Grace Worship Center, and a leader of the THRYVE youth ministry. Working as a pediatric nurse for the public school system, Dr. Tami gets to participate in the growth and development of the youth in and outside of the church. Dr. Tami likes to remind the youth that if they take delight in the Lord, then he will give them the desires of their heart.

Dr. Tami is married to her high school sweetheart, Pastor Larry Frazier Jr. They are a blended family of seven with five children, and three grandchildren. Dr. Tami and Pastor Frazier believe that their relationship is the perfect example of Psalm 37:4. Take delight in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart.

Joshua Curry is the youth ambassador and is a middle school student at the church’s school, Saving Grace Christian Academy with a 3.85 GPA. Joshua loves God, His word, music, and has been the drummer for Word of Grace Worship Center since he we 9 years old. Joshua has a great rapport with the other youth in the church and the community. Mr. Curry is outgoing and has a fresh perspective towards outthinking problems. Joshua is passionate about evangelism and believes the youth have a work to do in God's  kingdom.

Jayden Kelley is the Assistant Youth Ambassador at Word of Grace Worship Center. Jayden strives to live a righteous life and enjoys learning different languages as well as participating in team building activities. One thing Jayden shares with the youth is that the enemy wants them to believe that they don't have anything to offer. But he is a part of the youth ministry to show the world otherwise!
